Great adventure of Matacanes®, it is ideal for beginners and the young who wants to start with a short, dry and simple adventure. This place is located within the park La Huasteca in Nuevo Leon, you can arrive in any vehicle or taxi (just 15 minutes from down town Monterrey). The hiking starts at the Caves where we'll cross a huge one to the other side of the mountain where we'll make a total of 3 rappels (course of rappel included).

    Meeting Point

    The departure and return point is just a few meters passing the entrance of La Huasteca natural park, in Santa Catarina Nuevo Leon. To get to this point from down-town you'll take Morones Prieto avenue to the west; this avenue ends on the park entrance. From this point we'll move to a rural site, south the entrance.

    Season

    All year, but it is highly recommended from autum to spring. Summer is very hot.

    Difficulty

    Beginners: this trip is for personas without any experience in outdoor activities. The route involves walking in paths, between stones and can have downclimbing. All our routes include sa rappel course. Low phisical condition is required and is a requirement not to have overweight.

    Gear available

    1. Professional canyoning gear for each participant: Harness, helmet, PFD and wet-suit

    2. Professional ICAN certified guides with up top date courses of first aid and canyoning.

    3. Pictures and video of the trip for an extra cost. **if available

    4. Medica first aid kit for the trip in the mountain, recommended by the Mexican Red Cross.

    5. Trasportation from Monterrey available at a low cost

  • Each participant will be responsible of the gear provided, and will have to be carried in your own backpack when it is not in use.
    Lost gear should be payed as new.

  • Groups

    Groups can be made of 5 people minimum. In case of not being able to form a group, you'll have to make reservations with a full payment of the tour and wait to be assigned to one of the groups formed by other people. If you can't be assigned, you'll be refunded. You may ask for VIP groups with no minimum persons and guides will be assigned exclusively for you including all meals, transportation from airport , cabins and hotel nights.

    Food is NOT included in this trip, we recommend you bring two litter of water and energy bars
